Milena Govich

Milena Govich is a director as well as an actor and musician who has directed numerous episodes of TV such as The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as well as other. She was also co-producer and Co-EP on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently attached to two pilots that are in the process of development. Milena was selected as one of eight directors in AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. The short film she made and the TV series proof-of-concept , Unspeakable featuring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober, featured its World Premiere at SXSW and won Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The film, Temporary, she produced (2017) was shown throughout the nation. The film won the award for Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival. Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta ShortsFest. and the Director's Choice Award from Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared on more than 100 television episodes as an actor. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She also appeared on the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) that led to her role as the initial and the only female detective on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). She has also been featured in a number of other television shows including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and also on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has been featured in a variety of films that include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015), starring alongside Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). Milena is a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she completed the double major in vocal performance and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also named valedictorian. She benefited from her classical ballet education shortly thereafter to stage her Broadway debut in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
