Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-master recipes to cook at home on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and environment. Also, she was a contestant in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was fascinated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her following graduation with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. According to her "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every minute." It was impossible to study or be a better cook than I did. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions through her travels in Italy which has had an impact on her style of cooking. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. As a guest speaker and instructor, she travels across the United States to discuss the joy of cooking as well as her work. Anne declared that she felt fortunate having the opportunity to share her true passion with many others.
