ALEX MORGAN BIO

Morgan was born on July 2 1989 (Alex Morgan age: 30) to Pamela and Michael Morgan. They raised her and her two sisters, Jeni and Jeri, in the Los Angeles suburb of Diamond Bar. Morgan was multisport in her early years, but first discovered soccer at the age of 14. Morgan joined the Cypress Elite club team and was awarded the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship. She also placed third place in the bracket for under-19 players. Morgan continued to improve her skills in soccer at Diamond Bar High School. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) selected Morgan to be an All-American Athlete. In addition, she was a part of the states and regional divisions of the Olympic Development Program (ODP). Morgan continued her soccer career at UC Berkeley, where she led the California Golden Bears team in scoring since the beginning of her season. She was instrumental in taking the team to the NCAA Tournament every year and twice in the second round. Morgan was one of four finalists for the Honda Sports Award and the first from her school to make the list of Hermann Trophy finalists. Morgan graduated in 2010 with the third highest number of goals and points for Berkeley. Morgan was a soccer player at both the collegiate as well as national level throughout her college. Morgan suffered an ACL injury her first year with Berkeley. The injury prevented her from taking part in U.S. women's under-20 soccer until April 2008. She scored her first international goal in Mexico at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. Morgan was also part of the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup with four goals, receiving the gold medal among other accolades.Morgan was then absorbed by the senior national team who she replaced and scored several crucial goals. One of them was a win over Italy that earned the U.S. team the final place in the 2011 World Cup. Morgan was the youngest player of the team, and he helped the team win against France. Morgan was the team's youngest player and helped the team win against Japan.
